bubble bubble toil and trouble

.

okay, as a few of you know i got a lovely christmas gift from someone who read in my blog how much i wanted one of these. here are a couple of half decent pics of it that i'm posting solely so she can see them.

i'm still sick in these photos so please excuse the glassy eyes and ridiculous smile.

look ma my head is enormous! and hubris still has pink hair!

further adventures of the very large head....

and without further ado, my olympic schwag:

these aren't the sexiest photos ever but y'all can at least get the idea.

bubbles i'm sorry the cleavage didn't come out better for ya, i'll try harder next time :) i think you can at least get the gist of just how ridiculously sexy that outfit can be with the small chunks of skin showing here and there.

whenever i wear the shrug with that shirt i get the best responses. mostly from women actually but that might be because most of my clients are women. funny thing is that men sort of react like 'wow is that ever sexy' but without actually seeming to find me sexy. it's very weird.
.

i went climbing last night and man was it ever strange how tired and weak i was. i mean i still know how to move and i can still totally climb but i did like 6 routes with only two of them 5.8s and the rest 5.7s and i was pooped. pooped and pumped even.

it's amazing how a stupid sinus cold can take it out of you for days on end. in fact i wonder just how long i'll actually be weak for. the moves are there but the strength isn't. i especially noticed it in my grip. there was just nothing there.

still it felt fantastic to get back to the gym and feel myself move. heck i even demonstrated some in class tonight!
.

so i watched the oscars. good christ that's four and a half hours of my life that i'll never get back. the red carpet portion of the program totally bit because it seemed like there weren't really any celebritities there.

in fact the entire program was sort of lacklustre and i wonder if it's a reflection of the changing face of hollywood or if it has to do with how boring most of the nominated movies were.

okay that's not fair, crash wasn't boring and i've heard that capote was excellent. it's just that to give ang lee a best director oscar for brokeback mountain was ridiculous. it's like hollywood decided that the movie was epic and never even bothered to see it with their eyes open.

course not, they were too busy snoring.

i was glad for philip seymour hoffman though...

it just seemed like they scripted the show so much in an effort to make it run on time that they ate the life out of the oscars. too bad, they used to be such fun. where's cher when you need her?
.

okay that's enough, this post is really all about the pictures anyway.

scorp: yay i'm a wow. excellent word choice let me tell you :)

oh dude i fell madly in love with all the olympic clothing, i even want the gloves and all the hats (got one) and the boots and the hot tank tops with the little leaf on the back and... it's bad, i have it so bad for this stuff.

i never said i wasn't high but my eyes are kind of not right nonetheless.

elle: thanks! yeah isn't it great? the other one is 'hot'ter but the red one just makes me feel so happy. i'm ridiculously patriotic as you know.

terry: thanks! i still can only see my head. i know it's just a funny camera angle but i feel like my head is bigger than my hips. which it isn't :) my hips kick my head's ass. did i just type that?

i'm still sad that i never got to go to the olympics. i think that would have been a lot of fun. you can't see the cool detail on the pants, right at the bottom there's a white leaf with a flame at the bottom. it's lovely.

bubbles: i can see the glassy eyes but it's me, i know my eyes aren't right. course i'm also making silly faces...

*huggs* babe

doesn't it go perfectly with that shirt? like they're made for each other it's fantastic.

hee don't you want a shrug or six of your very own? i have to get more of them! damn i rate bubbles' desktop, i'm feeling extra flattered. you see why i can't resist the stuff? it's so pretty and yet classy and i want all of it! covetous little thing aren't i?

you're welcome, i'm sorry it took so long to get a pic for you but i'm glad you finally got it :)

yeah the oscars sucked :)

you got a very Carrie-Anne Moss look goin' on with the schwag ... and with all the pilates skills, you can probably do some matrix-ish moves ... LOL

and I barely watched any parts of the academy awards show ... they need to amp it up and remake it for the new viewers and new generation ... there definitely aren't too many really young folks watching anymore ...

dzer: funny i've been compared with trinity before. maybe if i get anorexic i'll dress as her for hallowe'en :)

i can do a little stuff but nothing like matrix. i don't have any wires *g*

dude the meryl streep and lily tomlin bit was awesome. the entire rest of the show sucked.

Hmmm... do I need one of those?

*biting lip and looking online*

I'll order two... one for me, and another for you!!!

dzer: tragically i think my pleather (er pvc actually) catsuit will be too big by next hallowe'en... but if not? i'll so do it, i even have the coat.

nerd: thanks!

scorp: have you been reading leah mclaren again?

bubbles: dude i'm fully covetous, the only reason i don't have more stuff is extended poverty. otherwise? LOVE CLOTHES! LOVE SHOES! :)

yes, yes you need one of those, maybe even two! (i bet you'd look fantastic in the pink one)

hee you're a bad bad girl em and i like it :)

hubris: yeah i truly love my red and whites... gotta get more!

that fuckass is you hubris :) and your vodka and oj to boot!

Oh good, I'm glad hubris is a person. I was very confused by that sentence about hubris having pink hair. That must be very deep, I thunk to myself, I don't get it.

Anyway please welcome Reason For Comment: Sass, I had no idea you were so BEAUTIFUL in so many ways. You're gorgeous, girl.

Sass: You look quite lovely! Glassy eyes and ridiculous smile? I don't think so. (Hubris behind you looks to be a little baked, perhaps... Perma-grin, methinks?)

I love the shrug, I'll have to recommend it to my dancer/yoga practicioner friends. (Where did you get it?)

Like the Olympic gear as well, very nice.

Hope this finds you well!

hey sonus where you been?

it's funny how what you see in yourself is so different from what other folks see in you. all i can see in those pics is just how sick i still am. my eyes are clearly not right.

so funny that noone else sees it.

hubris was waiting for the cookie to hit right about then and drinking vodka. it's the bronchitis that makes him look so high.

the shrug kicks freaking ass for warmups cause you can keep your arms warm and then toss it to work out... and it's not so warm as a sweater. it's from lululemon. gorgeous clothes but they're not made from the rigth fabric so you can get kinda stinky in them... still fantastic for warmups though.

i want ALL the olympic schwag dude, every piece!

i'm getting better, how're you?

Aww, how cute in the Olympic outfit! I love it!

I watched a movie about climbing today and thought of you!

What I did NOT watch was the Oscars so thank you for telling me that I saved 4 hours of my life. I really did like Crash though. And also Brokeback, I even cried and didn't think I would for some reason.

And thankyouthankyou for fixing my recent comments. I've rewarded you with a new blog post. OK I couldn't really type that with a straight face but still.

JM: thanks! i love it too.

what movie was it? i'd like to watch some climbing movies. :)

oh dude the oscars sucked ass. look i cried at brokeback mountain too but i didn't really consider the directing to be that stellar. the screenplay deserved that oscar and the acting and cinematography rocked but the directing? the directing sort of sucked?

i was crying at the end myself but still i thought the movie was too long and had a bunch of extraneous stuff and various other sort of directorial problems.

you're welcome for the recent comments fix, and now you know how to fix it yourself :)

yay offf to read your blog

Oh it wasn't a real movie... it was this guy explaining his journey to the top of Mt. Everest and he was climbing some other (non-Everest) mountain during the film and it was about how it takes teamwork to make it to the top and we have to learn from our mistakes, etc.

It was part of this weird corporate event that my company forced us all to sit through tonight. I think the concept is good but it's still sorta cheesy the way they've gone about it! Separating us up into teams with people we don't normally work with and asking us to improve the quality of the company and giving us all sorts of incentives. We'll see how it works out.

I don't know enough about film to decide if the directing was good or bad. I can barely spot bad acting most of the time. But I did like the movie... was surprised to read at the end that the Proulx work was actually a short story! Though it made sense with all their pregnant pauses and just looking at the scenery and stuff... I remember thinking about 20 minutes into the movie... wow, this must be one seriously boring book!

3/07/2006 09:56:00 PM
Blogger sassinak said...

JMai: oh man that sounds so boring. i hate that corporate empowerment bullshit although i do love teh games and the brainstorming. it's the movies and the powerpoint presentations that suck.

see the incentives and the quality improvement stuff sounds great but why can't they at least let you watch the fish movie? it's about teh same shit AND funny and interesting.

if you like a movie or hate it or think it's too long or anything it's ultimately at the feet of the director. i didn't hate the movie i just didn't think it was 'best director' worthy.

the scenery was freaking gorgeous though.

and yeah, it must be a really boring book :)

sass,I think you'd have to do that to be Kate Moss, not Carrie-Anne :-)

btw, lookin' good in the new digs!

I think that the academy gave Ang Lee the oscar this year as an apology for passing him over for Hulk...

jmai: I have one of those corporate retreat things at the end of this month. I'm totally pumped to attend this colossal waste of time, I mean incredibly beneficial opportunity. Sass, I've seen the fish movie and if that's the best they have to offer, I'm in for a long conference. Personally, I'm thinking about ordering some of these posters to compliment the ones currently hanging up around here, you know, to provide some honest balance...

Geesh,

You look skinnier and skinnier everytime I see a new photo of you. My have lost weight between the few seconds each of these photos were taken. I know the cold doesn't have you feeling fit right now, but I'm telling you that you are. Great work. Tell Hubris I'm jelous of his hair if you see him.

john: hee. but trinity is damm skinny... i mean not a spare ounce of flesh on that frame anywhere. tragically my catsuit will be too big by hallowe'en :(

i really should go as trinity sometime i have the cheekbones and the mouth... hmmm...

thanks dude, love me some new clothing and the shrug is extra awesome cause it's somehow super sexy and still just workout clothing :)

you didn't like the fish movie? i saw it like 7 years ago but i recall enjoying it... uh you think he deserved an oscar for hulk? i haven't seen it so i'm genuinely asking... :) (i sense sarcasm though)

lsd: geesh

i am getting skinnier. pants that were tight last time i saw you now sag and nothing i own fits again. don't get me wrong i am SO not complaining :)

i was extra skinny in those pics cause of the end of the cold thing though, it's hard to make yourself cook when you're sick... and yes i'll pass along your envy to hubris, it's awesome looking isn't it?

sass: The fish movie really isn't that bad as far as corporate vids go, but until they finally honor my request to show Office Space, I'm going to continue to bitch about every other selection...

(on a side note, my mother once worked for the company that produced the fish video during a hiatus between teaching positions. They have a very moving video on smashing business paradigms as well...)

I was being sarcastic about Hulk. I actually do like Ang Lee's other films (The Ice Storm, Croutching Tiger, etc) and I liked Brokeback, but I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to be a smart ass...

john it's the best corporate vid i've ever seen. but that's not really saying much :)

office space... wish i'd seen that AFTER i worked in an office rather than before. instead i only really got the waitressing jokes :)

that's a cool video it sounds like, i at least enjoyed reading the link and sort of know what you mean. the world or exercise evolves really fast and a lot of old school trainers are stuck in old models... as are their clients. it's hard to watch.

i haven't seen teh ice storm but i'd like to... and i didn't dislike brokeback i just didn't think it was best director worthy...

We had to sit through a nasty movie last week or the week before, made by the company and intended to make us care about our jobs. I generally make an effort to take the message to heart at least a little bit, I mean these people do (under)pay me, but after about 2 days it's all gone. But I still have the 2 nice pins I got afterwards. I can show those to my grandkids and make up something about climbing Mount Everest or snorkelling at the bottom of the sea. My life story will seem so much cooler after I've had a chance to do a few rewrites.

your company made the video itself? i bet that sucked extra hard then.

wouldn't it be more fun to live a life story that you want to tell your grand kids?

It would be nice to have a great life story to tell my grandkids. Maybe I haven't put enough effort into realizing my childhood dream of becoming a pirate. Except I am not fond of water.
Maybe I'll become a land pirate. I'll carry a sword and take over people's apartments. When I take over your apartment, you'll have the option of joining my pirate gang and stealing other peoples' aparments, or else I'll stick your coffee table partway out the window and make you walk the plank. Not very intimidating to people who live on the ground floor, but I still have to work out the bugs.

Who wants to join my pirate gang?

I love the pics...silly smile and all. That black outfit is indeed very fetching... hehe... fetching... I love that word.

And I love the fact that hubris and his pink hair are in the background... yaay.

Sorry to hear you were pooped but glad you were pumped. I can't wait till everything is in place in the condo and I can start going to the gym regularly. I need to start slowly. I am sure my body will take a little while to adjust.

And the Oscars.... *sigh* I used to get all excited about them. I think they used to mean something. Now, I can't even tell you I remembered they were on at all. I have not watched them for years. The morning after the event I might just check blogs for the official results. Not that it matters. It's all political and money-driven anyway. And the Oscars are just a reminder of the cult of beauty that has this country in a choke-hold... not to mention the worship of celebrities. ICK.

deb: you'd be amazed what a pain it is to get pics when you don't have a digital camera of your own. i TOTALLY agree that i have to change my profile pic but i need someone to take a headshot...

but thanks for calling me sexy!

ew: well i don't really want to be a pirate but i promise to read about your exploits in the paper and tell my friends that i know you as they all shudder in terror and stuff?

water rocks :)

nat: fetching is a freaking fantastic word, one i am very fond of even. i like it even better when someone is telling me that's what i am!

heh hubris was wasted on antibiotics and othercat took teh pics :) i could have edited out hubris but why? i love that he's there too!

it's unreal nat how tired i am after that cold. i went climbing last night for an hour and i was all exhausted again. my teacher killed me extra on tuesday without even trying and i'm still sleeping an extra hour or two a night...

you're right you do need to start slowly and that's one of the hardest parts...

yeah the oscars... i'm not even sure why i watched them. it's like i keep hoping they'll get back to their former glory and give oscars to people like alberto bennini :)

and yeah i don't think it's remotely relevant anymore but usually at least the dresses are pretty.

what you don't worship bradgelina? bite thine tongue!
