hrm it's thursday!

.
okay, so hallowe'en is in ten days (well the saturday partying bit) and both the costumes that i have in mind require some work.

now i don't have the coat or gloves for this one (well i have an oilcloth trenchcoat that i could oil up that has the right cut but still, it ain't pvc):
trinity

and my wig is wrong for this one:
barbarella

and this is the base of the costume (you can see that the wig is wrong and maybe i can afford a new wig - and i love wigs so i don't mind but...):

and this is the gun i will use for barbarella (i'd have to buy something for trinity) and incidentally a fucking hilarious pic of othercat and i last year. :)

.

incidentally i'm accepting variations on these themes as suggestions AND i'm asking for someone with more skill than me to get those two photos that are linked for me.

I say go for Trinity. Why? Because:

a) You look like Carrie-Ann Moss
b) You were Barbarella last year
c) Trinity is sexier than Barbarella
d) I'd bet that more people would recognize Trinity than Barbarella
e) With Trinity, you have the option of peering from behind sunglasses if you want to blatantly check people out

How can it be done?

a) You have the catsuit and the hair
b) Go to one of the myriad cheap shops on Yonge or Spadina and pick up the shiniest pleather gloves, toy gun and shades (if you don't have them) you can find
c) Grease all those items up for extra shine
d) I can lend you a pair of boots-- added bonus-- they have heels, though they cannot be greased (well, maybe)

Seems easy to me. Easier and probably no more expensive than trying to hunt down a Barbarella wig.

I have to say I am somewhat envious, it's been years since I've gone to a decent Halloween party. Or had a decent costume, for that matter. Somehow I have little creativity when it comes to outfitting myself.

nat: damm girl you are excellent at that!

thanks, and that's last year so if may look different this year. i'll have to make sure the damm thing fits but even a bit loose it will look hot.

and thanks!

hunee: i can't dye the wig... it's not the blonde that i mind it's the not big and fluffy and seventies and teased.

i think the gloves are cheaper...

gabi: yes and it fits pretty much the same way but looks different... :)

pv: well i like all of your reasons. especially b and c.

oh and E!

well if you look at the top barbarella pic you'll see my boots. they're not shiny but they're shiny enough and they're five inches high and they fit me so i'm pretty happy with them. thanks for the offer though!

i'd say price wise both costumes are the same and i already know where to get the wig :)

i have no idea if this party will be decent or not but i know if it sucks i'm heading out on the town at about 12:30am. i think you should find a reason to dress up!

deb: thank you! i love that wig too, i've had it for like ten years... and i wear it any time that i have an excuse!

you don't do hallowe'en? god that's tragic.

oh i love the idea of that class and that you're going. i think you should definetely stick with any class that you describe like that.

it's hard huh? but god it's awesome.

nerd: um... i'm hot?

fair enough, michelle pfeiffer will always be the queen of the catsuit... though carrie anne moss didn't look bad either *g*

:)

At least the hot PVC suit makes up for the lame tie dye and the rest of my get up. My costume was as lame as your's was just plain sizzling.

This year, I'm going to go hide out in the bush by myself, so it won't matter what I'm dressed like.
